With the new Irish Life Health ExpressCare Clinics* in Dublin and Cork you can get fast access to care when you need it. We’re open to Irish Life Health members and non members. We aim to see patients within 1 hour, with no appointment needed, and are here for you 7 days a week. So rest assured, when you need it, we’re there for express care. ​​

As well as that, our members still have access to urgent care in 20 other local Minor Injury Clinics** across Ireland so you’re never far away from help when you need it.

What can be treated at the Irish Life Health ExpressCare clinics​

What can be treated:

  • Upper and lower limb injuries - Fractures, sprains, strains, swelling, soft tissue injuries, joint and muscular pain
  • ​Sports injuries
  • Minor head injuries –facial injuries, ear injuries, nasal trauma & mouth problems
  • Minor chest injuries
  • Minor burns and scalds
  • Minor illnesses (ear infections, skin infections, sore throat, fever etc.)
  • Ear wax removal/syringing (16+ years old only)
  • Wound care
  • Removal of foreign objects from ear/skin
  • Animal and insect bites
  • Mild allergic reactions
  • Mild nose bleeds or mild headaches

What can’t be treated​:

  • Abdominal or Chest pain​
  • Serious head injuries - experience loss of consciousness,  amnesia, vomiting or limb weakness
  • ​Severe shortness of breath
  • Pregnancy related illness
  • Gynaecology complaints
  • Children with:
  • non-traumatic limp or non-use of a limb
  • medical illness i.e. seizure or respiratory symptom
  • injuries following a fall from a height
  • serious head injuries
  • neck or back pain
  • abdominal or chest pain
  • breathing difficulties
  • injuries due to self-harm of inflicted by others
  • need for ear wax removal/syringing

You should attend your nearest hospital or emergency department if you or a person in your care are suffering from any of these issues.

Your cover at the Irish Life Health ExpressCare clinics

For Irish Life Health members we’ll cover up to the amount detailed on your Table of Cover for each visit, towards the initial consultation and, if deemed necessary the following treatments related to the initial consultation:​​​

  • X-ray​

  • Stitching​

  • Full cast​

  • Temporary cast​

  • Splints​

  • Crutches​​

We will not cover the charge for the following take home aids:​

  • Boots​

  • Braces​​

In the Irish Life Health ExpressCare Clinics you only pay the balance due after your level of benefit cover as detailed on your Table of Cover is deducted.​​

There is no limit to the number of visits you can make to the Irish Life Health ExpressCare clinics. ​​

Members over the age of 12+ months can attend the Irish Life Health ExpressCare Clinics. Payment at the clinic can only be made by card. Cash and cheques are not accepted.

FAQ's

With the ‘Minor Injury Clinic Cover Pay and Claim’ benefit we’ll contribute an amount towards the initial consultation and, if deemed necessary the following treatments related to the initial consultation:​

In the network of other Minor Injury Clinics you will be asked to pay the cost of services directly to the clinic and you can claim back some of that cost from Irish Life Health up to the amount detailed on your Table of Cover.​ Check your cover (link to login page).​


There is no limit to the number of visits you can make to our network of other minor injury clinics.

Yes, the Irish Life Health ExpressCare Clinics are open to the public.

​ No, you do not need an appointment. The clinics operate on a walk-in basis with no appointment needed.

Yes there is parking available at each location.


Tallaght: Parking provided in the Euro Car Park. Charges apply.


Cork: Parking provided by YPS. Charges apply.


Northwood: Outdoor parking available at Swift Square.

The clinics in Northwood, Tallaght and Cork are open from 10am to 8pm daily.


Opening hours may be impacted by Christmas Day depending on location.

It is helpful to bring with you a list of any medication you may be taking. Also, make sure to have a credit or debit card to pay any balance owed to the clinic.


If possible, try to arrange for someone to bring and collect you from the clinic.
