Our approved network of walk-in clinics includes Direct Settlement Clinics (i.e. Affidea’s Express Care Clinics) and Pay & Claim Clinics. *Opening times may differ for some minor injury clinics. Age restrictions may also apply. Please check these in advance of attending.

      The “Minor Injury Clinic Cover” benefit covers an amount* towards initial consultation and, if deemed necessary the following treatments related to the initial consultation:

    • Stitching
    • Full cast
    • Temporary cast
    • Splints
    • Crutches


    • What is not covered?


    • Boots and braces

      A Minor Injury Clinic is a walk-in medical clinic for the treatment of broken bones, dislocations, sprains, strains, wounds, scalds and minor burns that are unlikely to need admission to hospital.

      Irish Life Health will pay the minor injury clinic directly up to the amount detailed on your table of cover.

    • Please note: any additional amount owed should be paid by you to the minor injury clinic. This amount cannot be claimed back under out-patient, day to day or any other benefit on your plan. Irish Life Health will pay the minor injury clinic directly up to the amount detailed on your table of cover for each visit.

      You will pay the minor injury clinic directly and claim back from Irish Life Health up to the amount detailed on your table of cover.

    • Please note: you must settle the bill directly with the Minor Injury Clinic you attend. You can then claim back the amount covered by us during your policy year by scanning your original receipt and submitting it through our online claims tool in your member secure area within six months of the end of your policy year. This benefit cannot be claimed in conjunction with any other benefit.

      The amount detailed in your table of cover for the Direct Settlement Minor Injury Clinic Cover is paid directly to the Minor Injury Clinic. You only pay the balance. If you visit a Pay & Claim Minor Injury Clinic you will pay the clinic directly and then claim back the amount covered by scanning your original receipt and submitting it through our online claims tool in your member secure area within six months of the end of your policy year. Information correct as at May 2021.

      If you are experiencing minor injuries that are not life threatening you can visit a Minor Injury Clinic and avoid waiting times in an A & E. You can walk-in anytime with no appointment needed.

      There is no limit on the number of visits covered*.

      The “Minor Injury Clinic Cover” benefit does not cover the charge for the following take home aids:
